Notes
Political boundaries seem to be a rather odd way to divide up the surface
of the Earth for the purpose of hierarchically grouping people together
who have common concerns deriving from geographical proximity. In the Waldzell
Canon, the primary frame of reference should be the planet's hierarchical
system of watersheds (aka river basins), not the ephemeral political
tesselation existing at some particular moment in human history. The ever-changing,
largely arbitrary political boundaries should be related back to
the watersheds, not the other way around.
