The Earth geosphere is that part of the Earth which extends from the planet's center to the ocean floors and continental surfaces.

The Earth crust is the solid outer layer of the geosphere, including both the oceanic crust under the oceans and the continental crust elsewhere.

The Earth mantle is the layer of the geosphere inside the crust.

The crust and the upper part of the mantle continue to interact strongly, and are referred to together as the Earth lithosphere, which is fractured into several mobile tectonic plates.

The Earth core is the layer of the geosphere inside the mantle, both the liquid outer core and the solid inner core.
