The subject of GBG-List is the concretization of the game described in Hermann Hesse's novel, Das Glasperlenspiel. Concretization, in this context, refers to the design of game forms which are sufficiently specified that they are playable by one or more persons. Of particular interest, of course, is the particular concretization known as the Waldzell Glass Bead Game, but discussion is not limited to that approach.
Discussion on GBG-List may include anything that may be of interest to those currently engaged in the design of concretized forms of the Glass Bead Game, to players of such game forms, or to those interested generally in Hesse's idea and its further exploration, from any perspective, with a view to concretization. Some of the major topics that can be expected include:
GBG-List is a completely public mailing list. This means that anybody with an interest in the Waldzell Game or in concretization of Hesse's game may subscribe and participate.
